Regulatory Compliance Testing Manager, North America

Austin, USCompliance & RiskOn-siteposted 1d ago

We’re looking for a Regulatory Compliance Testing Manager to join our North America Compliance Monitoring and Testing team. You’ll independently assess whether regulatory controls work in practice and whether customers receive the outcomes our obligations require. You’ll lead risk-based reviews across U.S. consumer protection, payments, state money-transmission, safeguarding, disclosures, complaints, partner handoffs, and remediation. This is a hands-on testing role. You’ll take reviews from scoping and population definition through evidence, analysis, findings, reporting, and remediation validation. You’ll work closely with Product, Operations, Legal, Risk, Engineering, and Analytics while bringing clear, credible second-line challenge.

Your mission

Help Wise build a testing program that is rigorous, practical, data-led, and focused on real customer outcomes. You will provide independent assurance over non-FinCrime regulatory risks in North America and turn complex obligations, production evidence, and operational signals into clear conclusions and actions. You’ll work alongside a Financial Crime testing counterpart and a separate monitoring-oversight lead. Your primary lane is independent regulatory testing: you will not own routine 1LOD monitoring or the overall monitoring framework, although you may provide quality assurance or challenge over related monitoring outputs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan and execute risk-based regulatory testing and remediation-validation reviews from scope through final report.
  • Translate regulatory obligations and customer-outcome risks into precise control questions, populations, evidence requirements, test procedures, and failure criteria.
  • Test both control design and operating effectiveness, including whether controls work consistently in production and whether customer remediation is complete and reproducible.
  • Define and reconcile complete testing populations before sampling; use data and analytics to stratify risk, identify exceptions, and support defensible conclusions.
  • Review end-to-end processes that cross Product, Operations, technology, data, partner, and legal-entity boundaries.
  • Assess U.S. consumer-protection and payments requirements, including areas such as Regulation E, UDAAP/UDAP, E-SIGN, complaints, disclosures, customer communications, scams and restrictions, and state money-transmission obligations.
  • Evaluate state prudential and customer-funds controls where relevant, including safeguarding, permissible investments, liability-to-asset reconciliation, shortfalls, and selected regulatory-reporting evidence.
  • Write clear workpapers, issues, remediation-validation conclusions, and management reports that distinguish evidence, regulatory judgment, customer impact, and inference.
  • Challenge control owners and senior stakeholders constructively, agree practical corrective actions, and preserve independent second-line judgment.
  • Use Internal Audit, Group, first-line, or external-review evidence thoughtfully, relying only where the entity, population, period, procedure, result, and retained evidence support the specific assurance objective.
  • Support regulatory examinations, audits, partner due diligence, risk assessments, and governance reporting with accurate, well-organized testing evidence when needed.
  • Contribute to the continued development of NorthAm CMT methodology, templates, data use, quality standards, and reporting.
