Internal Audit Senior Specialist

A bit about the role

We are looking for an Internal Audit Senior Specialist to join our specialist FinCrime team within Wise Internal Audit. The FinCrime team has a global remit and works collaboratively with regional audit teams. Your main focus will be completing FinCrime audits at Wise. You will contribute to the planning, fieldwork, reporting and follow-up of audits, and make recommendations to improve governance, risk management and internal controls. Your responsibilities will vary audit-to-audit and will include contributing to the development of the audit test plan, owning the execution of testing for specific scope areas, and completing issue validation testing.

The role presents a great opportunity to focus on the development and delivery of audit engagements in a fast-paced environment, focussed on data-driven and innovative audit techniques. Strong knowledge of FinCrime processes is key to being successful in this role, complemented by experience in audit, assurance, risk, compliance or control testing. Knowledge of deploying data-driven or technology-enabled assurance to drive the internal audit agenda is highly valued, but this can be taught to the right candidate.

Your mission

• Support the execution of audit engagements per the audit plan, ensuring timely and high-quality audit outcomes.
• Contribute to audit planning, including development of test plans, and take ownership to independently deliver design and operational effectiveness testing for specific scope areas.
• Develop deep FinCrime technical expertise across regulatory requirements, risks and typologies, processes, systems, and controls, applying technical insight to elevate our audit approach.
• Monitor the implementation of Internal Audit recommendations and measure the effectiveness of the improvements.
• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Support the implementation and operation of the internal audit assurance framework, including development of continuous monitoring and automated audit routines.
• Actively contribute to building a robust and self-sufficient internal audit team.
• The role is London-based, but many of our teams are located across different office locations. You will travel as needed to meet your objectives.

Experience

• You have a strong understanding of FinCrime processes and controls.
• You have proven experience working in audit, assurance, risk, compliance, or control testing roles.
• You have worked in a regulated environment, such as Fintech or Financial Services.
• You have worked in a multinational environment across different cultures and countries.
• Professional qualification a bonus: CPA/ACA/ACCA/CIA/CISA/ICA/ACAMS
